Precise, Fast, and Affordable Timber Frame Construction — Powered by Robotics

Speed up house construction by up to 70% while maintaining maximum precision and flexibility.

The mobile, bilateral production line processes both sides of the constructed element, vertically and simultaneously, manufactures frame walls, truss walls, roof surfaces, ceilings, and hybrid panels.

What is fHL

What is fHL

fHL (fastHOMELine) is a mobile production line for the prefabrication of building components (including truss walls, roof segments, ceilings, and hybrid panels).
Its core component is a symmetrical cell equipped with two KUKA/KR Quantec robots that work on both sides of the element and collaborate in a synchronized cycle. FHL combines:

  • automated assembly
  • digital geometry and quality control of individual parts (measurement + tolerance testing)
  • autonomous manufacturing processes
  • CAD/CAM data flow – production based on plans (including WUP).

In practice, FHL is designed to ensure industrial repeatability – almost independently of staff availability:

  • shorter cycles
  • stable quality
  • plannable production

How FHL work

How does FHL work

At the FHL, components are assembled automatically, verticaly, from both sides and simultaneously in a continuous process.

Double-sided material feeding

Components are fed to the line on both sides (operator / automated transport).

Recognition and input measurement

Laser sensors detect the thickness of individual parts, while high-resolution cameras capture their shape and dimensions. The system checks whether the parts fed into the system are suitable for the next assembly step and whether they are within the required tolerances (lengths, angles, thickness).

Checking conformity with the model

The geometry of the single parts is compared with the CAD/CAM data (e.g. from the WUP file) and confirmed. Only parts that pass the quality control check are forwarded for further processing in the assembly cell. If an single part does not meet the parameters, the system detects the error and sorts the part out before assembly.

Robot positioning during assembly

The survey data is used to guide the robots with repeatable accuracy to the exact gripping points of the single parts.

Assembly at the heart of the line: FRAMER + double robot cell

The robots grip, rotate, position and assemble the individual parts on a common frame. Processing both sides of the resulting element significantly shortens the cycle. High assembly accuracy with high repeatability is achieved, taking material tolerance into account.

Transfer for final processing

The prefabricated element is forwarded to the finishing area for completion (e.g. pre-assembly of sanitary/electrical installations, installation of windows, preparation of plaster surfaces, preparation for final assembly/further transport – depending on the operating process and order).

Who it's for

Who it's for

Individual Clients

You are a private investor and want to build a house – predictability, quality without surprises and a short time until you can move into your new home are crucial factors. The licensed operator of our system is able to manufacture elements for each customer to order within a predictable budget and time frame. The specialist is there to support you, and under their supervision and guidance, your project will be a complete success.

Most Common Challenges

  • Risk of delays and deviations from the schedule,
  • Uncertainty regarding the quality of execution and costly rework,
  • Difficulties in controlling multiple teams and subcontractors,
  • Uncertainty, as the final result will only be visible at the end.

What FHL offers in this scenario

  • prefabrication in controlled conditions: repeatable geometry and quality,
  • short construction time,
  • no corrections on site thanks to the high precision of the elements,
  • reduced risk of execution errors,
  • predictable construction process

Who it's for

Timber-frame House Building Companies

Your carpentry company manufactures timber frame houses. The decisive factors are: capacity, adherence to deadlines and controlled quality.

Most Common Challenges

  • Staff shortages,
  • weather dependency,
  • bottlenecks in the manufacturing of components,
  • deadline pressure at the expense of quality,
  • the risk of losing customers due to long waiting times,
  • inconsistent quality within a project and the need for reworking.

What FHL offers in this scenario

  • Increased throughput with lower staffing requirements,
  • stable production cycle,
  • repeatable elements = fewer adjustments on site and fewer complaints,
  • opportunity for easy entry into ‘industrial-level’ prefabrication in your company.
  • Scalability without immediate relocation to another hall (depending on the layout of the plant).

Who it's for

Prefabricated House Production

You run a manufacturing business (medium/large size). The key factors are: unit costs, standardisation of the process, utilisation of the production hall.

Most Common Challenges

  • rising operating costs (qualified personnel, space, downtime),
  • limited production capacity despite high demand,
  • difficulties in maintaining good quality in series production,
  • costly production cycle due to certain phases of prefabrication with existing technologies (horizontal manufacturing requiring a lot of space in the hall).

What FHL offers in this scenario

  • Lower operating costs per m² of element surface area
  • High production capacity with simultaneous reduction in workload for personnel
  • Consistent quality thanks to precise robot work, measurement and geometry control
  • Improved efficiency through combination of all assembly and machining cycles in a single station.

Who it's for

Investors Commissioning Prefabrication

You have a project and a construction schedule, but don't want to wait in line at the precast plant. The decisive factors are: start date, adaptation to the construction schedule due to rigid production planning in the plants and assured quality.

Most Common Challenges

  • Long queues and uncertain delivery dates,
  • production that does not fit your schedule,
  • the risk that the elements will not meet the required quality standards and that this will only become apparent on the construction site,
  • difficulties with changes in the final phase.

What FHL offers in this scenario

  • Production planned for a specific date – ‘just-in-time’ possible
  • Consistent quality thanks to precise robot work, measurement and geometry control
  • No transport costs for large orders – several houses in one construction area – direct delivery of materials to the construction site without intermediate storage at the factory
  • Changes to the construction plan can be implemented until shortly before final assembly.
